Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She was the founder of The Huffington Post and the director of Thrive Global. Author of more than 15 books. Arianna Huffington works as an writer, journalist, TV host, and owner of The Huffington Post. She was born in Greece and relocated to England at age sixteen. At Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA in Economics. The first graduate from outside the UK to serve as the president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. As a conservative syndicated blogger, after graduating she became the voice of Huffington Post. Her popularity enabled her to get a variety of celebrities to contribute their opinion regarding current affairs, the political and culture. Arianna was famous when she made the decision in 2003 to become an Independent Candidate in the California Recall Election to replace the former governor Davis. Arianna was also part of an initiative in Detroit that promoted cars that are fuel efficient. Forbes identified her as the top woman in media in the year 2009. Her ranking was 12th on the ranking. The Guardian added her to the list of top 100 media in 2009. In the year 2011, AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post and made the president of that media company, which also included a number of then-existing AOL products, such as Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. Elli is the daughter of Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, and Elli the other, both of whom are management consultants and journalists. Though she was close to her father it was the relationship she shared with her mother that formed her character. Even during her formative years, she exhibited abilities to lead, and for this she is still well-known. When she was 16 she relocated into the United Kingdom to pursue her education and was enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society while in college, where she was the third and first female to hold the position of the president. In 1972 she graduated with an advanced degree in Economics. Following her graduation, she was employed as a columnist critic, and a television host. In addition, along with Bernard Levin she appeared on an edition of Face the music.
