Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She co-founded The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a writer TV personality, philanthropist, and the owner of the independent free online news publication The Huffington Post. She was born in Greece and relocated to England at age 16. In Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA in economics. The well-known debating club The Cambridge Union was her first presidency and she did it when she was 21. Being a conservative syndicated blog when she graduated, she was able to be a voice of the Huffington Post. Arianna was able to attract numerous prominent contributors to post their views on culture and politics. Arianna gained fame after she decided in 2003 to stand as an independent Candidate for the California Recall Election to replace the Governor Davis. The project she headed was an Detroit fuel-efficient car project. In 2009, she was ranked by Forbes as one of the top female media personality, taking the 12th place on the listing and the following year, the Guardian included her in the top 100 of media lists. AOL Inc. appointed her President of their media division in 2011, after they acquired The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post included other AOL brands like Engadget, AOLmusic Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli was the daughter of Konstantinos who was a journalist and management consultant. Her character was formed through her relationship with her mother as well as her relationship with her father, despite her being very close to him. When she was a teen she displayed leadership qualities that she still is known for. at the age of 16 she emigrated back to United Kingdom to pursue her study and then enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. In her college years she joined Cambridge Union. Cambridge Union debating group where she became the first female president and only president from outside the country. She graduated in 1972 with an honorary degree in Economics. She was a journalist television host, and columnist upon her graduation. Her appearance in Face the music with Bernard Levin was also noteworthy. She started writing books with his guidance in editing.
